It’s that time of year, the time when we all make our resolutions for the new year and swear up and down, we’re gonna work out every day, eat healthier, and save money. Well, this year I’m not making resolutions per se, but I am setting goals. And even if I don’t reach them, I know putting them out there into the world is holding myself somewhat accountable for taking action and really working towards them.
- #1 Blog consistently
This is something I have struggled with since I started blogging 10+ years ago. I always have good intentions but I always let other things get in the way. I’m too busy at work, I have to run errands, blah blah blah. Yes, life gets busy, and it does for every single one of us. I don’t want to make excuses anymore, I want to do this for me. Blogging makes me happy, so why put it off? I have started a routine and have kept with it for a couple months now and it feels good. I’ve been posting at least once a week since November and my goal for 2019 is to move up to 2x a week and provide more consistent content. That way you really understand who I am and what my life actually looks like. I think that will also help with goal #2.

I know this goal is achievable, I have been working hard this year to develop an aesthetic that is 100% me. I still have work to do but I’m getting there. I also have been posting more consistently which has led to substantial growth for my Instagram following. I’m up over 700 at this point and I want to at least reach 1k within 2019. I don’t buy followers and I don’t “follow for follow” either, this has allowed me to build an authentic and organic following, and that feels so good! It’s also given me the opportunity to work with some cool brands this year, and hopefully, that will increase as well.

Oh man, this one is a real self-care kind of goal. I used to read constantly, 2-4 books a month. But over the past couple of years, I have been slacking hard on my reading and I can tell it is affecting my overall brain health. There are so many books on my to-read list (follow me on Good Reads!), and it only grows longer by the day. So in 2019, not only am I challenging myself to grow my brand, but I’m also challenging myself to take some time for ME, and reading is the first step.
Well, those are my 2019 Goals. There are definitely other things I want to do/accomplish this coming year but the three listed above I am making a priority for myself. Stay tuned in January for more content about reaching goals including, a 2019 reading list, and ideas for self-care!
